Twitter Tears Apart India's Ruling Party for Owning Trump's Pakistan Jibe

US got only lies from Pakistan in return for billions in aid no more tweets Donald Trump

In the latest sign of deteriorating ties between the USA and Pakistan, the American leader launched an attack on Twitter, saying Pakistan gave Washington "nothing but lies and deceit" in return for "billions of dollars in aid". They work with us at times, and they also harbour the terrorists that attack our troops in Afghanistan.

Meantime, on Tuesday the Pakistani Foreign Ministry summoned US Ambassador to Pakistan David Hale over US President Donald Trump's critical remarks about Islamabad and its anti-terror policy, local media reported.

Khawaja Asif, Pakistan's foreign minister, told Geo TV on Monday: "He has tweeted against us [Pakistan] and Iran for his domestic consumption".

Just last week, the Pakistan Army rejected the Trump administration's pressure to do more in the fight against terrorism.

American President Donald Trump slammed Pakistan on this New year with a tweet. "That game is not acceptable to this administration", Ms Haley told reporters at the United Nations headquarters in NY on Tuesday.

The Pakistani defence minister Khurram Dastgir Khan turned the criticism back on Trump, claiming the United States has given Pakistan "nothing but invective & mistrust", and claiming United States officials "overlook cross-border safe havens of terrorists who murder Pakistanis".

Trump sees 'good energy' in inter-Korean talks
The paper reported that Trump did not give any inkling if the two bitter rivals have had established any contacts as of yet. The IOC will host talks in Switzerland on January 20 to discuss details about North Korea's participation at the Games.

Pakistan's National Security Committee, which includes Asif, said they've been fighting back terrorist incursions from Afghanistan across the porous border, and added they shouldn't be responsible for Afghanistan's "collective failure".

"Pakistan has fought hard and suffered heavily against those terrorists focused on its government, and now we are asking them to focus on the terrorists that are attacking Afghanistan and attacking the coalition", he continued.

"We are paying [a] heavy price in the war against terrorism and lost many lives of armed forces, law enforcement agencies and general public as well", she wrote.

The relations between the United States and Pakistan, long vital for both, have chilled steadily since Trump declared that Pakistan "gives safe haven to agents of chaos, violence and terror".

The Pakistani government has not yet issued a formal response to Haley's statements.

Although the volume of annual U.S. assistance to Pakistan stands at USD 1.1 billion, hundreds of millions of dollars are withheld every year under different restrictions imposed since 2011, when relations between the two countries began to deteriorate after Osama bin Laden was found in Abbottabad.
