Pakistan wasn't involved in Mumbai attack: Musharraf

The Bangladesh success story

The PTI has also demanded the resignations of the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for siding with the sacked premier.

Answering a question, Abbasi said he will not resign nor is there any pressure on him to do so, adding that the government will complete its tenure at the end of this month after which he'll leave office.

"The participants observed that it was very unfortunate that the opinion arising out of either misconceptions or grievances was being presented in disregard of concrete facts and realities", a press release issued after the meeting had said.

In an interview to 'Dawn', Nawaz suggested recently that such strikes could have been prevented.

Following a backlash in worldwide and local media, Pakistan Army Spokesperson Major Asif Ghafoor had announced that the NSC meeting had been called to clarify Pakistan's stance on Sharif's statement, Geo News reported.

"Nawaz Sharif started attacking judiciary and the military after Panama Papers", Khan said.

In November 2008, in 12 coordinated shooting and bombing attacks in Mumbai lasting for four days, members of Pakistan-based militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba killed 164 people and injured over 300. Sharif had asked in the interview, referring to the Mumbai attacks-related trial proceedings stalled in the Rawalpindi anti-terrorism court.

Hours after the council's meeting, Sharif doubled down on his position, saying Pakistan was being isolated internationally due to its reputation. Besides, India didn't provide any evidence to Pakistan, delaying conclusion of the Mumbai attacks trial in Pakistan.

This club has to be in the top 10. "I just want to keep this club climbing as high as we can". Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was full of praise for Newcastle after his team's defeat.

Expressing fears about the security of Sharif following his interview, Nusrat demanded the global community to exert pressure on authorities in Pakistan to take every possible precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the former Pakistani prime minister.

The NSC said Pakistan also awaits cooperation on the matters of Samjhauta Express and Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav.

Maryam Nawaz lamented that her father, three time PM Nawaz Sharif, braved all threats and rejected foreign aid for May 28 nuclear tests but is now being termed traitor.

Pakistan's top civil and military leaders on Monday condemned a suggestion by ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif that Islamist militants who killed 166 people in India in 2008 had crossed the border from Pakistan. In the interview, Sharif, who was disqualified from public office by the country's Supreme Court a year ago, addressed Pakistani foreign and national security policy in a conversation with journalist Cyril Almeida.

"Militant organizations are active".

"Indian media is giving the issue a different hue, and we should not be a part of it", he said.

The likes of Sharif will come and go but the army will call the shots and it is silly to live under illusions that peace is possible with the Pakistan Army pulling the strings.

Mr Sharif is facing ire for "harming national interests" from opponents as well as some of the estranged leaders from his Pakistan Muslims League-Nawaz (PML-N) party for allegedly supporting the Indian narrative on the attack case.
